Thieves raid beer truck TREASURE ISLAND – Some thirsty thieves made off with 11 cases of Miller Light beer May 1 from a beer truck at the Rally gasoline station, 10801 Gulf Blvd. According to a police report, the delivery truck was broken into. The truck was owned by J.J. Taylor Distributors of Tampa Bay. The value of the brew was listed at $220.
Prescription drugs stolen TREASURE ISLAND – A 40-year-old St. Petersburg man parked his wife’s car briefly behind the VIP Lounge, 10625 Gulf Blvd., on May 1 and had an estimated $70 in prescription drugs stolen from the vehicle. Todd M. Dayton of 319 Appian Way N.E., drove a 2007 Ford convertible into the parking lot and left the top down with the prescription drugs in a dark brown shaving bag sitting on the car seat. When he came out the bag and his drugs were gone.
Car burglarized near beach TREASURE ISLAND – Treasure Island police are searching for the culprits who stole more than $600 worth of items from a parked car near the beach on May 2. According to a police report, 34-year-old Ryan Beck of Pointe Claire, QC, Canada and Daniel John Poirier, 32, of Cowansville, QC, Canada, parked a rented car near the beach in the 10100 block of Beach Access Road. When they returned at about 5:22 p.m., they found their car burglarized and minus $500 in cash, three pairs of shorts, two credit cards and a driver’s license.
The thieves gained entry by breaking out a passenger window.
