Public's help needed to ID armed robbery suspect

DUNEDIN - Detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect who robbed the Rally Gas Station convenience store at 1625 Main St. in Dunedin about 3:20 a.m. on May 25.
According to detectives, the suspect entered the convenience store and made his way behind the counter. He approached the store employee and demanded that cash be placed into a black bag that he was carrying. The employee activated the alarm system and the suspect fled on foot with no cash. Detectives say the suspect was armed with what appeared to be a handgun.
The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, light blue shirt, dark pants and a multi-colored coat with a hood. He was carrying a black bag.
Investigators are asking that anyone with information about this armed robbery call Detective John Spoor of the Homicide and Robbery Unit at 727-582-6200 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS.
