SEMINOLE – Dr. Ernest McDowell, of McDowell Orthodontics, recently announced his newly founded Pinellas County chapter of Smile for a Lifetime as a way to give back to the community and invest in the future of under-served children.
Through this nonprofit organization, McDowell provides scholarships for orthodontic treatment to 8 to 10 local children each year on a completely pro bono basis.
At Smile for a Lifetime Foundation, the mission is to create self-confidence, inspire hope, and change the lives of children in our community in a dramatic way. The gift of a smile can do all this for a deserving, underserved individual who, in turn, can use this gift to better themselves and the community.
The foundation will award one set of braces per month to individuals that could not otherwise afford orthodontic treatment. McDowell has recruited a local board of directors to help inform our community on the benefits of Smile for a Lifetime and to help determine the recipients.
