Article published on Monday, July 28, 2008
PINELLAS PARK _ A Seminole resident was arrested July 27 after he allegedly stabbed a man during an altercation.
Joseph R. Dunaway, 24, is charged with second degree aggravated battery and remains in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Brian A. Bain, 32, of Pinellas Park suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was expected to undergo surgery at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
Lt. Paul Andrews said police responded to the 6600 block of 96th Avenue at about 4 p.m. to investigate a report of a stabbing. Police said the suspect surprised Bain in a confrontation and then allegedly stabbed him in the upper torso with a folding serrated knife.
Police said Dunaway fled the scene. He was located by a K-9 unit as he hid in a creek in the 7200 block of Bryan Dairy Road.
An investigation continues.
