Ford Amphitheatre shows heat up for August

TAMPA - Three big shows are on tap this August at the Ford Amphitheatre.

Toby Keith will bring his Big Throwdown Tour II, featuring Lee Ann Womack and Shooter Jennings, to amphitheatre Saturday, Aug. 6, 7 p.m. Tickets are $67.75 and $32.75.

A "Grass Pass" is available for this concert, including one festival lawn ticket, parking and a $10 food and beverage voucher for $39.

R&B superstars Earth, Wind & Fire and legendary rock band Chicago will perform Saturday, Aug. 13, 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The bands that headlined the grand opening of the Ford Amphitheatre will return for an encore performance. Lauded as one of the most successful and creative tours of 2004, the 2005 summer run of the Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago shows promises to be even more electrifying.

Fans will hear more than 3 hours of hits including a full-length set from each band. The show also will feature two incredible jam sessions.

Tickets range from $35 to $75. Lawn tickets are $20.

Avril Lavigne
Avril Lavigne will perform with Gavin DeGraw and Butch Walker on Saturday, Aug. 20, 6:30 p.m.Doors open at 5 p.m.

Lavigne’s 2002 debut “Let Go” introduced young women to a defiant new voice. Now, after 14 million albums sold and a string of Grammy nominations, the Canadian vocalist returns with “Under My Skin.” Hits include “Don’t Tell Me” and “My Happy Ending.”

This will be a pavilion only show. Reserved seating is $44.50, $36.50, and $25.50.
