Article published on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008
PINELLAS COUNTY – The Emergency Operations Center and Citizen’s Information Center will close at 10 a.m.

Both operations began deactivating early Tuesday morning after officials determined Tropical Storm Fay would not be a threat to the area.

Residents with questions can continue to call the Citizen’s Information Center at 727-464-4333 until 10 a.m.

According to Sally Bishop, Emergency Management director, “We were very fortunate that the storm direction turned and remind residents to stay vigilant in their storm preparedness plans and continue to monitor weather conditions on an on-going basis.”

The EOC partially activated on Sunday afternoon and began staffing the Citizen’s Information Center. Both operations were fully activated throughout the day on Monday.
