DUNEDIN – The Colored Pencil Society of America, Gainesville Chapter, will present its sixth annual statewide exhibition of artwork in colored pencil at the Painted Fish Gallery from Friday, Sept. 2 to Sunday, Nov. 6.

The gallery will host a reception for the exhibition on Saturday, Sept. 3, 1 to 4 p.m. The event will include refreshments.

Colored pencil is an exciting medium for fine art that creates unexpected results. Colored pencil art is expressed as highly realistic to abstract, from soft pastel shades to vivid colors. Colored pencil has long been used as an illustration tool but has made great strides in the fine art market. This exhibition will be the second event for CPSA at the downtown gallery.

Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The gallery is at 350 Main St. Call 734-5060.
