Seminole High School’s marching band hosts the 32nd annual Seminole Sound Spectacular Saturday, Sept. 27, 5 p.m.
SEMINOLE – Fourteen high school marching bands will make up the lineup Saturday, Sept. 27, for the 32nd annual Seminole Sound Spectacular competition at Seminole High School.

A field of 13 bands will compete. Seminole High School’s band will present a demonstration performance and will be the last group to perform.

The competition, hosted by the Seminole High School Band Aides Boosters, traditionally brings together the finest in marching bands.

The display of marching drills, flag pageantry and rifle work will be held on the school’s football field beginning at 5 p.m. The Seminole Middle School Band will perform the national anthem.

Seminole Sound is one of the longest running festivals in the southeastern United States and is considered to be a great opportunity to view some of the best marching bands in Florida.

Local high schools scheduled to participate include Largo, Clearwater, Countryside, Indian Rocks Christian, Northside Christian, Osceola and Tarpon Springs.

Other high schools participating are Braden River High School of Bradenton, Sun Lake High from Land O’ Lakes, Spring Hill Springstead, Bradenton’s Lakewood Ranch, Winter Springs Lake Howell and Orlando University High.

There will be full concessions and souvenirs available. Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for students. Children under 6 are free.
