Wilma delays mid-week red tide report
Article published on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005
ST. PETERSBURG - Hurricane Wilma passed over southern Florida on Monday morning, Oct. 24, and was followed by a cold front from the north. Both of these events may affect Gulf of Mexico waters and the current red tide blooms.

The effects will not be known until samples are received and analyzed, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute. Sampling will continue in both northwest and southwest Florida, although sampling schedules may be abbreviated this week because of the storm. Results will be available in the next scheduled status report on Friday, Oct. 28.
