County begins phone survey
Article published on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005
PINELLAS COUNTY - As part of an ongoing effort to involve citizens in government, Pinellas County is conducting a phone survey.

Following a series of successful citizen focus groups to gather input about issues facing our future, Pinellas County is dialing for more feedback.

Residents will be questioned on a series of topics during a telephone survey that began on Friday. Eight hundred registered voters will be surveyed through mid-November.

The information will help guide the development of the countywide strategic plan known as Vision Pinellas that seeks to improve our quality of life in the years to come.

Residents can expect questions on topics such as transportation, housing and health care. There will also be questions relating to our citizens' satisfaction with county services and funding priorities during the 10-to-12-minute phone survey.

Oppenheim Research, an independent firm in Tallahassee, will be conducting the interviews on behalf of the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. The survey has a variance of +/- 3.5 percent, which is statistically valid. The results will be compiled and presented to the Board of County Commissioners in December.
