DUNEDIN - Local officials gathered Nov. 17 in Pioneer Park in Dunedin to celebrate the beginning of a new weekend service for the Jolley Trolley.
The Nov. 17 ribbon-cutting and celebration was the official kick-off of new weekend Jolley Trolley service running from Clearwater Beach to the Tarpon Springs sponge docks. The service will run until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and until 10 pm on Sundays.
“This is an easy and affordable way for residents and visitors alike to enjoy the restaurants and businesses in Clearwater, Dunedin, Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs without the hassle of driving or finding parking spaces,” said PSTA Chairman of the Board R.B. Johnson.
“This new service is an exciting opportunity and should really help our local economies,” fellow PSTA Board member and Dunedin City Commissioner Julie Ward-Bujalski said. “This unprecedented partnership among numerous business and governmental entities has given us a way to expand service for our citizens.”
The new partnership will allow PSTA and the Jolley Trolley to leverage resources and financial contributions from the county, business organizations and local municipalities to implement new transit service.
The new Jolley Trolley service starts Friday, Nov. 19.
