TREASURE ISLAND – The Art Guild of Treasure Island has opened a new exhibit at the Treasure Island Community Center, featuring the works of three member artists.
The exhibit continues through Jan. 2.
Art Guild president Pete Garino, who works in oils and acrylics, introduces “Rainy Night in Paris,” “Tropical Take-off,” and “My Horse in ’44,” which is reminiscent of his days as a U.S. Air Force pilot.
Garino’s colorful and thought-provoking “Twin Towers, Twin Sails” transports viewers to another place and time.
Pastel and portrait artist Rita Kink demonstrates her skills in pastels with “Tiger Woods” and “Peacock.” With a sensitivity to her subject matter evident in “My Kitty” and “Old Man Working,” she succeeds in drawing in the viewer to share an emotional and loving response.
Grace Murdock demonstrates her talent with four refreshing watercolors. “Frolic Before The Storm” and “All The Comforts of Home” invite viewer participation. Her technique in “Swan Visit” and “Angel Trumpets” evoke beauty and simplicity.
The community center is located on 106th Avenue, east of Gulf Boulevard.
Call 547-4575 for hours of operation.
