ST. PETERSBURG – The Florida Orchestra has a packed month ahead, including a special concert featuring the music of Styx.
- Feb. 3 and 5: Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons – Tampa Bay Times Masterworks Series
In the tradition of a chamber orchestra, with the concertmaster giving direction to the orchestra musicians, enjoy the intimate sounds of Vivaldi’s ever-popular The Four Seasons, together with the string orchestra version of Bartok’s charming Rumanian Folk Dances and J.S. Bach’s elegant Orchestral Suite No. 3. As with all evening Masterworks programs, these performances offer a pre-concert talk about the music and the composers, one hour prior to curtain.

- Feb. 9: Best-Loved Symphonies – Coffee Series
Teddy Abrams conducts this morning Coffee Concert featuring select movements from Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, and Haydn's Symphony No. 94 (Surprise). Guests will be treated to complimentary coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts as well as a pre-concert conversation one hour before the performance.

- Feb. 10 and 11: A Night at the Tropics with Charles Lazarus – Raymond James Pop Series
The orchestra will help patrons warm up their winter with a musical getaway of soft sultry sambas, moving mambos, sizzling trumpet solos with a tropical flavor, and hip-swaying rhythms from Cuba, Brazil, Hawaii and other exotic locales.

- Feb. 15: An Intimate Collaboration
The orchestra and The Studio@620 present their third season of “An Intimate Collaboration,” a series of entertaining and seriously fun happenings in our own backyard. Occurring on Wednesday evenings, each performance includes elements connected by a common theme. This night, the series continues with "Scandinavia" prior to the program featuring Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with Nielsen’s Helios Overture and Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1. It begins at 7 p.m. at The Studio@620. Reservations are accepted by phone at 727-895-6620, as seating is limited. Suggested donation of $10 is payable at the door.
- Feb. 17, 18 and 19: Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 – Tampa Bay Times Masterworks Series
Hailed as “a gigantic talent” by The Baltimore Sun, Valentina Lisitsa reveals the rapturous beauty and rhapsodic themes of one of the most popular of all romantic concertos, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2...in a night with Nielsen’s Helios Overture and Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1. Conducted by Stefan Sanderling.

- Feb. 24: Dennis DeYoung: The Music of Styx
Dennis DeYoung: The Music Of Styx with The Florida Orchestra showcases the band's greatest hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s like they have never been heard before -- performed live with Dennis, his six member band and The Florida Orchestra. This symphonic rock spectacular includes all eight top Top 10 hits including Lady, Babe, Come Sail Away, Too Much Time On My Hands plus classic rock anthems Grand Illusion, Renegade, Blue Collar Man, Suite Madame Blue, and more.
Dennis is a founding member of Styx. He wrote and sang lead on seven of the band's eight Top 10 hits. He is a legendary singer, songwriter, keyboardist, composer and record producer with a career spanning over 40 years. His voice is one of the most recognizable in the music world today and continues to inspire new generations of fans.
