CLEARWATER – Continuing in the yearlong celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary, Religious Community Services Inc. will host its third annual grand gala on Saturday, Sept. 23.

The gala will help celebrate the impact of providing help and hope to those in need and will feature celebrity sports anchor Jay Harris of ESPN. Harris will deliver the keynote address.

“Doing whatever we can to provide help and hope to people should be how we live our individual lives,” Harris said in a press release. “I appreciate my buddy Kirk Smith and RCS for their work to do that, to fill in the gaps, and to lead and inspire others to get involved.”

“It’s an unbelievable honor to have my good friend Jay Harris join us for this year’s grand gala,” said Kirk Smith, president and CEO of RCS. “When I think about our mission and what I know of Jay Harris, I couldn’t think of a better person to deliver the keynote address. It’ll be a great day for RCS.”

Founded in 1967, by a network of local churches and houses of faith, RCS has had a strong and enduring impact on Pinellas County, serving over 15 percent of the population with emergency food, shelter and safety, annually.
