19th Hole mixer
OLDSMAR – The Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce is hosting a 19th Hole mixer Wednesday, Aug. 24, at nine different restaurants and businesses.

Set for 5-8 p.m., the mixer costs $20 per player or $80 for a team of four. Participants will play a zany putt-putt hole at each location.

Free hors d’oeuvres will be served and discount drinks will be available. Non-alcoholic beverages will be free for designated drivers.

Electronics class
TARPON SPRINGS – The Tarpon Springs Recreation Division is offering a new electronics class to assist participants in learning how to operate their electronic devices properly on Wednesdays, 6 p.m., at the Tarpon Springs Community Center, 400 S. Walton Ave.  

The class costs $7 per class or $24 per month. This class will demonstrate basic tasks through both one-on-one training and group demonstrations. Bring your own electronic devices.

English classes
MADEIRA BEACH – English for students of other languages is being offered by Pinellas County School Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Madeira Beach Fundamental School, 591 Tom Stuart Causeway. Cost is $30 a semester.

Attendees will have an opportunity to learn and to practice English with a teacher, with computers and with other learners.

Guardian ad Litem program
DUNEDIN – A presentation about the Guardian ad Litem program that advocates for abused and neglected children will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, 10 a.m., at the Dunedin Library, 223 Douglas Ave.

Volunteers in the Guardian ad Litem program have the ability to “make a powerful difference in the life of a child,” a press release said. They advocate in court and in the child welfare system for abused, abandoned and neglected children.

The Guardian ad Litem visits the child every month, becomes familiar with the child’s case, and recommends to court officials about how to ensure the child has a safe, caring, and stable home.

No prior experience is necessary and training is provided.

Largo Star Toastmasters Club 5933 meeting
LARGO – Largo Star Toastmasters Club 5933 invites new members to its weekly meeting on Wednesdays, 12:05 to 1:05 p.m., at the Young Rainey Star Center, 7887 Bryan Dairy Road No. 120.

The club is open to all residents and workers in the Largo, Pinellas Park and Seminole areas.

A Toastmasters club provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their oral communication and leadership skills. Seminole Fire Rescue CERT class
SEMINOLE – Seminole Fire Rescue will offer Community Emergency Response Team CERT-317, an introductory course to those wanting to serve as a CERT member or those interested in preparedness training.

The class will take place Wednesday, Aug. 24, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. (disaster preparedness); Thursday, Aug. 25, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. (disaster medical operations and disaster pyschology); and Saturday, Aug. 27, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (fire safety and utility controls; terrorism and CERT; light search and rescue; and CERT organization.)

Classes will be held at Seminole Fire Station 29, 11195 70th Ave. N. Each graduate will receive a student manual and CERTbasic kit. Lunch and snacks are provided. Classes are open to individuals 16 and older. For more information, email bdykens@myseminole.com or call 727-393-8711 ext. 210.

GFWC Pinellas Seminole Woman’s Club meeting
