Aqua Zumba party
LARGO – Southwest Pool’s Aqua Zumba Party is nonstop dancing in the water with high-energy music and leaders Saturday, May 30, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 13120 Vonn Road.

Garden Club of St. Petersburg plant auction
ST. PETERSBURG – A plant auction fundraiser will take place Saturday, May 30, noon, at the Garden Club of St. Petersburg, 500 Sunset Drive S.

The public is welcome to attend. Hosted by the Night Bloomers Circle of the club, this live and silent auction will feature show quality and specimen plants. Proceeds will support the club’s community projects.

Santa’s Angels luau party
REDINGTON BEACH – Santa’s Angels plans a luau party Saturday, May 30, 6:30 to 10 p.m., at Friendship Park, 164th Avenue and Second Street. Tickets to the event are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.

The purpose of the event is to raise money that can be used to pay for Christmas gifts and food baskets that Santa’s Angels distributes during the Christmas season.

Volunteers who adopt a child are given $50 to shop for the child. If they take two children, they get $100. Volunteers can also deliver the gifts to the families along with a bountiful food basket supplied by Santa’s Angels.

Last year Santa’s Angels delivered gifts to 286 children and food baskets to 81 families.

The children are selected by Directions for Living, Pinellas County Guardian ad Litem, Rosie’s Playschool, Boley Centers, and Fairmont Park Children’s Initiative.

The luau party will have pit roasted pigs and turkeys, along with the trimmings. There will be wine, beer, and a margarita bar. Music will be provided by Encore.

Saturday Night Dinners
LARGO – Saturday Night Dinners are served 5 to 8 p.m., with music by various artists weekly, 7 to 11 p.m., at American Legion Post 119, at 130 First Ave. SW. in Largo. The cost is $7.25 and includes bacon-wrapped filet mignon served with a house salad, baked potato and rolls.

Tarpon Springs Market
TARPON SPRINGS – The Tarpon Springs Market opens Saturday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and continues Saturdays through June 27, 2015, rain or shine.

Due to a scheduling conflict with both the primary and alternate locations, the market will be closed on Nov. 22.

The market will feature ethnic food, imports, crafts and a variety of entertainment. Fresh locally grown organic produce and locally caught seafood also will be offered when in season and available. Parking and admission are free.

The primary location is in the downtown shopping district of Tarpon Springs at the corner of Pinellas Avenue (Alt. U.S. 19) and Tarpon Avenue. The alternate location is Craig Park at South Spring Boulevard and Pineapple Street for those weekends with other events scheduled in the Mother Meres lot.

Upgrade2Success 5K HERO Race and 1M Family Fun Doggie Dash
LARGO – The Upgrade2Success 5K HERO Race and 1M Family Fun Doggie Dash will be Saturday, May 30, 9 a.m., at Walsingham Park, 12615 102nd Ave., Largo.

Early registration for the race is $20 through April 30 and includes many race perks. Each registered adult can enter two children 17 and younger for free. Regular registration is $30 from May 1. To register, visit bit.ly /1N4LUs5. ;

This year’s race has a superhero theme, so participants are encouraged to dress in their best superhero racing gear. There will be a finish line celebration featuring fun, a silent auction, raffle by bib number, finisher medals for all kids, medal ceremony for race winners, music, food and arts and crafts for the kids.

The funds raised will provide Gulf Cost Giving’s annual Upgrade2Success Scholarships for Pinellas students. Funds also will benefit GCG’s bullying/cyberbullying awareness, prevention, and intervention programs.

INDIAN SHORES – The Indian Shores Sunday Morning Market is open in the parking lot of the Indian Shores Municipal Center, 19305 Gulf Blvd., every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through May.

The market is free of charge and family friendly.  Leashed pets are welcome. “All of our vendors are local, hands-on owners and operators,” said Market Operations Manager Laura Garrison. “We have organic produce, gourmet foodies and some of the best artists and crafters in the area. Pancake breakfast and Art in the Park
TREASURE ISLAND – The Treasure Island and Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce plans its annual pancake breakfast and the inaugural Art in the Park event Sunday, May 31 at the Treasure Island Community Center.

The pancake breakfast will take place from 8 a.m. to noon. Admission is $10. Mimosas and Bloody Marys will go for $4.

Art in the Park will take place in Community Center Park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring upscale art vendors. Admission is free.
