U.S. War Dogs Music Buffet
LARGO – Celebrity chef Johnny Ciao has teamed up with Jeff Lucas and Jim Magazine, two well-known attorneys from New Port Richey, to present the U.S. War Dogs Music Buffet, an event to benefit the U.S. War Dogs Association and the Lucas/Magazine Community Foundation on Sunday, Feb. 26, 4 to 8 p.m., at East Bay Country Club, 702 Country Club Drive.

The event raises necessary items and money for K-9s and handlers who sacrifice their lives while in service overseas. Proceeds also will benefit the foundation, which helps individuals and organizations, focusing on veterans, children, first responders and single parents.

Ciao has spent over four decades in the entertainment field, including serving as a personal chef for Michael Jackson, the Grateful Dead, Marlon Brando, Carlos Santana, Donnie and Marie Osmond, Dick Clark, Willie Nelson and more. For the past 13 years, he has helped raise awareness and funds for several charities. Ciao also will perform on harmonica with the Culinary All-Star Band.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Chris Hovan, who will assist Johnny in the kitchen as his sous chef, will be a special guest

United Ostomy Associations of America support group
ST. PETERSBURG – The United Ostomy Associations of America affiliated support group of St. Petersburg will meet Sunday, Feb. 26, 2 p.m., in the auditorium at St. Anthony’s Hospital, 1200 Seventh Ave. N., St. Petersburg.

All ostomates, new or experienced, are welcome to attend. This month’s speaker will be Matthew Clark from Coloplast, an ostomy supply manufacturing company. Clark will bring talk about the latest developments at the company.

The group offers support to persons facing ostomy surgery as well as persons with ostomies and their family and friends.

Walmart stores blood drives
Select Walmart stores will host blood drives Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 27-28, 2 to 7 p.m. For a complete list of locations, visit oneblood.org /walmart or call 888-936-6283. Appointments will be honored and walk-ins are welcome.

Donors can help save lives and families by donating blood and will enjoy a $10 Walmart gift card.  All donors also will receive a wellness check-up of blood pressure, pulse, temperature and iron count, including a cholesterol screening.
