American Cat Fanciers sanctioned show
SEMINOLE – The Gulf Coast Touch of Class Cat Club has partnered with Career Academies of Seminole, 12611 86th Ave. N.,to host an American Cat Fanciers sanctioned show Saturday, April 25 through Sunday, April 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the school.

The show will be a fundraiser for CAS’ veterinary assisting program.

Over 100 pure bred cats are entered in the competition. There will also be cats and cat accessories for sale. Tickets to the show are available for a $5 donation. Email biramp@pcsb.org or visit www.acfacat.com for more information.

CAS commercial and digital design students will offer free Adobe Photoshop workshops April 25, 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Bring damaged or old photos and the students will demonstrate how to scan and retouch them. Email juulc@pcsb.org for more information.

The school’s horticulture program will also host a plant sale that weekend. Students will be on site to help guests select a variety of different plants and to offer advice on growing and maintaining vegetation. Email heavnera@pcsb.org for more information.

Arts and crafts show
TARPON SPRINGS — The Tarpon Springs Merchant’s Association will once again host its Arts and Crafts Show featuring dozens of vendors Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on on the sponge docks and Dodecanese Boulevard. Food and beverages will be sold on site. About 80 booths will sell everything from jewelry and ceramics to plants and photography.

Cheer camp
CLEARWATER – Pink Pom-Pom Pow-Wow Cheer Camp for children 5 to 11 years of age will be presented Sunday, April 26, noon to 2 p.m., at Westfield Countryside Mall, 27001 U.S. 19 N., Suite 1039. For information, call 796-1079.

Cost for the Pink Pom-Pom Pow-Wow Cheerleading Camp is $10. All proceeds will benefit Bright Pink, a non-profit organization focused on breast and ovarian cancer prevention.

Children will learn the art of cheerleading high school cheerleaders. Children are invited back to Westfield Countryside on May 3 for the kickoff of Westfield’s Pink Party Fundraiser, an exclusive experience featuring mini-makeovers, 5-minute hairstyles, nail art, light refreshments, prizes and more! Space is limited.

The camp includes cheer and dance routines led by high school cheerleaders; goodie bags with a T-shirt and pom-poms. There also will be a breast and ovarian cancer educational seminar for parents.

Cheeseburger in Paradise
LARGO – The American Legion Riders Chapter 119 will host a Cheeseburger in Paradise party to support the children’s charities, Sunday, April 26, 1 p.m., at the American Legion Post 119, 130 First Ave. SW. Fort De Soto bird watch walk
TIERRA VERDE – A free, guided nature walk will be offered Sunday, April 26, 10 to 11 a.m., at Fort De Soto Park, 3500 Pinellas Bayway S.

Guests will enjoy the beauty of Fort De Soto Park with a one-hour nature walk great for the entire family. A bird-watch walk is planned. Parking cost is $5.

Fundraiser concert
ST. PETERSURG – A concert will be presented to raise funds for Haiti on Sunday April 26, 6 to 8 p.m., at First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, 1900 Gandy Blvd.

The concert will feature a contemporary praise band showcasing the talents of Jim Metellus, Theo Valentin, JB Victor, Venel Viljean, Miphela Victor, Lindy Compas, Alberto Bent and Ancher Milien. 

Funds raised will benefit church missions in Haiti, Zanglais Baptist Church and Institution Mixte Gamaliel. There is no admission but a donation is expected. For information, call 576-5508.

Great American Family Campout
SEMINOLE – The city of Seminole Recreation Division will host its second annual Great American Family Campout at City Park, 7464 Ridge Road, Saturday, April 25, 6 p.m. through Sunday, April 26, 11 a.m. Activities include a campfire and a hunt for the Seminole Sasquatch.

An adult must accompany all children. A tent permit of $5 per tent is required and can be purchased in advance at the Holland G. Mangum Recreation Complex, 9100 113th St. N. Alcoholic beverages, open flames, glass containers and pets are prohibited. Call 391-8345 for more information.

Indian Shores market
INDIAN SHORES – The Indian Shores Sunday Morning Market is open in the parking lot of the Indian Shores Municipal Center, 19305 Gulf Blvd., every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through May.

The market is free of charge and family friendly.  Leashed pets are welcome. “All of our vendors are local, hands-on owners and operators,” said Market Operations Manager Laura Garrison. “We have organic produce, gourmet foodies and some of the best artists and crafters in the area.
