Largo Star Toastmasters Club 5933 meeting
LARGO – Largo Star Toastmasters Club 5933 invites new members to its weekly meeting on Wednesdays, 12:05 to 1:05 p.m., at the Young Rainey Star Center, 7887 Bryan Dairy Road No. 120.

The club is open to all residents and workers in the Largo, Pinellas Park and Seminole areas.

A Toastmasters club provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their oral communication and leadership skills. SEMINOLE – The GFWC Pinellas Seminole Woman’s Club meets the fourth Thursday of every month at Freedom Square in the Roskamp Auditorium at 11 a.m. Meetings include lunch and a guest speaker. All are welcome.

GFWC Seminole Junior Woman’s Club meeting
SEMINOLE – The GFWC Seminole Junior Woman’s Club meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Holland G. Mangum Recreation Center, 9100 113th St. N.

The group is dedicated to serving the community, particularly through programs helping children. Club activities include providing dinner to families at the Ronald McDonald House in St. Petersburg; and the SJWC’s annual “Share Our Spirit” food drive, which helps feed Seminole children during the winter holiday break.

Tai Chi and Qigong classes

FootGolf Tournament
LARGO – Piper Fire Protection will be hosting its third annual FootGolf Tournament on Friday, March 24, at Largo Municipal Golf Course, 12500 Vonn Road. The event will benefit the Children’s Burn Foundation of Florida through the Florida Fire Equipment Dealers Association.

“Our annual FootGolf Tournament produces thousands of dollars in donations every year,” said Chris Johnson, president of Piper Fire Protection. “The event is helping raise money to benefit the Children’s Burn Foundation, which provides support for child burn survivors, who have suffered burn-related injuries. Piper is proud to be part of the fight to give these children their lives back and their dreams of a better tomorrow.”

Registration begins at 5 p.m. with a shotgun start at 6 p.m.

Cost, including play and awards dinner, is $30 for a single golfer, $20 for children and $25 each for groups of four or more. The event also will feature live entertainment, signature beverages with a Piper Fire souvenir cup, awards for top teams, prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin and a 50/50 raffle.

A FootGolf costume contest also will be held, so participants are urged to dress in their finest argyle socks and cap (no cleats allowed). Please bring a soccer ball if possible.
