About Boating Safely class
CLEARWATER – United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-1 Clearwater will offer its About Boating Safely class on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 13-14, 8 a.m., on the second floor of the Cheek-Powell Heart and Vascular Pavilion, on the Morton Plant Hospital Campus, 455 Pinellas St.

This is the first class for this year and will include the dangers of hypothermia and winter boating. Unlike Internet courses, certified USCGAUX instructors who can answer questions and share their experiences on local waters teach the ABS class.

Topics include Boating Emergencies, Know Your Boat, Getting Underway, Navigating, Operating Your Boat Safely and Legal Requirements. All graduates receive a Florida State Certification Card. Materials cost $35.

Antique and collectible glass show and sale
LARGO – Antique and collectible glass is expected to be at the annual show and sale of the Sparkling Clearwater Depression Glass Club on Saturday, Feb. 13, and Sunday, Feb. 14 at the Minnreg Building, 6340 126th Ave. N.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 13 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 14. Admission is $5, which is good for both days. Parking is free.

Numerous types of glass will be for sale, including American-made art glass, carnival glass, depression glass and pattern glass. China, pottery, dinnerware and kitchenware spanning the decades from the 1880s into the 1960s also will be available.

Booths will offer books for sale, glass repair and glass identification. Door prizes totaling $1,000 will be given away.

Corey Sunday Market
ST. PETE BEACH – The popular Corey Avenue Sunday Market is open Sundays, October through May, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The market, features 50 to 80 vendors who sell a variety of locally produced and homemade items including produce, plants, take home foods, ready to eat lunch bites, hand crafts, eco-friendly and fair trade products.

This season will be the second that Tampa Bay Markets has managed the market in conjunction with the Corey Avenue Business Association.

Honeymoon Island guided walks
DUNEDIN – Guided walks will be offered Oct. 14 through April 1 at Honeymoon Island State Park, 1 Causeway Blvd.

Hikes are offered Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. The hikes are free with paid park admission of $8 per carload. Call 738-2903.

Attendees taking part in Friday beach walks should meet at the South Beach Pavilion at 11 a.m. Those taking part in Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday Osprey Trail Walks should meet at the picnic area.

Paddleboard yoga
ST. PETE BEACH – Residents will have an opportunity to strengthen their core and find relaxation on the water with paddleboard Yoga at the St. Pete Beach Aquatic Center. Classes are held on Sundays at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and on Mondays at 7:30 p.m.

The class is good for first-time paddlers or those looking to expand their existing practice. Each class will include basic paddling instruction and gentle yoga on the water. Reservations are required. Limited space is available.

The cost is $15 for St. Pete Beach residents or $17 for a nonresident. To reserve your spot call the St. Pete Beach Aquatic Center at 363-9264.

Refugee support ceremony
CLEARWATER – Unitarian Universalists of Clearwater, Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services and neighbors will participate in a ceremony to show support for refugees on Sunday, Feb. 14, 12:30 p.m., at Unitarian Universalists of Clearwater, 2470 Nursery Road.

The UUC will host the ceremony to hang a banner stating that “Our Community Welcomes Refugees” on the wall outside the church.

“It seems fitting on the day of love people should show their love and resist the hate and fear that has victimized those who have already been victimized,” organizers said in a press release.

Sunday Musicale
SEMINOLE – Ray Kamalay will perform at the Seminole Community Library, 9200 113th St. N., Sunday, Feb. 14, 3 p.m., as part of the library’s Sunday Musicale series.

Kamalay performs a variety of styles, including ragtime, classical, Celtic, jazz, country, blues, spirituals, vaudeville and more. This free event, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is open to the public. Email friends@myseminole.com for more information.
