Spaghetti dinner
TREASURE ISLAND – The Isle of Palms Civic Association will hold its annual spaghetti dinner Tuesday, Feb. 28, 5-8 p.m., at the Treasure Island Community Center, 154 106th Ave.

Cost is $10 for adults in advance and $12 at the door if not sold out. Children under age 10 are $4.

Tickets are available at the Treasure Island Chamber of Commerce, 245 107th Ave., or at the door.

The dinner is all you can eat and is open to the public. Live entertainment will be provided.

Alzheimer’s support group
LARGO – Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and Ruth’s Promise Adult day program are sponsoring a Practical Grace in Alzheimer’s support group, meeting fourth Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m., in the Prince of Peace Chapel, 455 Missouri Ave.

The group will next meet Tuesday, April 26.

Practical Grace in Alzheimer’s Care is a support system designed by Dr. Cate McCarty, dementia coach, to close the gap between maintaining meaningful faith membership while navigating Alzheimer’s and related dementias. As a follow-up to the recent Practical Grace seminar at Prince of Peace, Ruth’s Promise has expanded their ministry to offer this support group to Alzheimer’s caregivers.

The adult day program is available for respite during the meeting provided caregivers.

Passage at St. Augustine
ST. PETERSBURG – The St. Petersburg Library System will host a screening of the award-winning, hour-long film “Passage at St. Augustine: The 1964 Black Lives Matter Movement That Transformed America,” set for Tuesday, Feb. 28, 6 p.m., at the Palladium Theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N., St. Petersburg.

Free and open to the public, the screening will be followed by a conversation and a question-and-answer session with Boston-based filmmaker and Emmy-nominated journalist Clennon L. King.

The documentary film is about the little-known but turbulent St. Augustine Civil Rights Movement which dominated the headlines in 1963-64 during the push for desegregation in the nation’s oldest city.

Pinellas Geological Society Club meeting
LARGO – The Pinellas Geological Society Club meets monthly September through May at the Largo Public Library on the fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m. Annual dues are $10 and $15 for a family.

Formed in 1958, the nonprofit organization’s purpose is to promote knowledge and interest in rocks and minerals and in the sciences of geology, mineralogy, paleontology, archaeology and the lapidary arts of silver and goldsmithing, faceting, en cabachoning, channel work, beading and design, wirewrap and all types of jewelry.

Smoking-cessation classes
LARGO – Free smoking-cessation classes will be offered Tuesdays through Feb. 28, 5 to 6 p.m., at the Bardmoor YMCA, 8495 Bryan Dairy Road.

Sponsored by Gulfcoast North Area Health Education Center and Tobacco Free Florida, the program provides a free class to help participants quit any form of tobacco through an in-person group class and free nicotine replacement therapy, such as patches, gum or lozenges while supplies last and if medically appropriate. The program is funded by the Florida Department of Health.
