Flamenco guitarist Gladius
Flamenco guitarist Gladius will perform Wednesday, June 1, 6:30 p.m., at the Safety Harbor Public Library, 101 Second St. N., Safety Harbor. The concert is free and open to the public.

More than a fabulous performer and award-winning composer, listeners have called Gladius “a miracle in the making” by prevailing over a crippling case of nerve damage which greatly hindered the dexterity of both his hands and could have easily ended his career.

Inspired by the great composers, Spanish guitar maestros, and others, this musical/mad-scientist fuses the elements of the greats into a refreshing formula – evoking the Spanish spirit, yet producing distinctly unorthodox compositions. After nine years, four surgeries, 7,000 hours of physical therapy and countless prayers later, Gladius perseveres, relentlessly touring, recording, inspiring audiences of all ages, and winning numerous composition awards.

The concert is sponsored in part by the Friends of the Safety Harbor Library.

For information, call 727-724-1525.

“Love, Lies and the Doctor’s Dilemma” is the latest American farce written by Michael and Susan Parker. The Parkers have written countless hits such as “The Amorous Ambassador,” Hot Bed Hotel” and “Sex Please We’re Sixty.” The new farce takes a look at what happens when ordinary people tell little white lies – things like mistaken identities, unmitigated calamity and ensuing hilarity.

La Bohème
The St. Petersburg Opera Company will present “La Bohème” on Friday, June 3, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, June 5, 2 p.m.; and Tuesday, June 7, 7:30 p.m., at the Palladium, 253 Fifth Ave. N., St. Petersburg. Tickets start at $22. Call 727-823-2040 or visit www.StPeteOpera.org.

A poet, a painter, a musician and a philosopher. Is it any wonder these four “bohemians” are penniless? Luckily, in early 19th century Paris, true love isn’t measured in money, but love is tested by Mimi’s fatal illness. Puccini’s score is filled with familiar, soaring melodies and has been an audience favorite since its premiere.

This performance will feature traditional staging with a 37-piece orchestra. It will be sung in Italian with English translations projected above the stage.
