The Light in the Piazza
“The Light in the Piazza,” with book by Craig Lucas and music and lyrics by Adam Guettel; June 18 through July 10, at freeFall Theatre, 6099 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.

Performances are Wednesday and Thursday, 7 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m. Matinees are Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m. Tickets prices vary depending upon performance time. Call 498-5205 or visit freefalltheatre.com.

“The Light in the Piazza,” a musical with a book by Craig Lucas and music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, is based on a novella by Elizabeth Spencer.

Love, Lies and the Doctor’s Dilemma
“Love, Lies and the Doctor’s Dilemma,” through July 10, at the Early Bird Dinner Theater, 13355 49th St. N., Clearwater. Matinee shows are presented Thursdays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. Evening shows are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 4 p.m.

“Love, Lies and the Doctor’s Dilemma” is the latest American farce written by Michael and Susan Parker. The Parkers have written countless hits such as “The Amorous Ambassador,” Hot Bed Hotel” and “Sex Please We’re Sixty.” The new farce takes a look at what happens when ordinary people tell little white lies – things like mistaken identities, unmitigated calamity and ensuing hilarity.
