An opening reception for Mixed Emotions
An opening reception for “Mixed Emotions," new mixed media work by Lourdes Rosas-Rasdall, will be presented Saturday, Jan. 21, 6 to 9 p.m., at St. Pete ArtWorks, 635 Central Ave., St. Petersburg.
The event is free and open to the public. Sangria and tapas will be served.
Lourdes Rosas-Rasdall knew she was a creative at an early age, and as such, pursued a degree in visual arts. Naturally, she has worked with most traditional mediums over the years, but gravitated towards watermedia early on, for its flexibility and ability to mingle with other media.
Lourdes has been residing and creating art in the Tampa Bay area for over 30 years, where she finds lots of local inspiration. Her newest body of work, Mixed Emotions, pushes the medium beyond tradition. It’s an effort to represent favorite subjects in a new way. With boundaries broken, reality is questioned. Chaos is the new order. Old is new again.
