Gutenberg! The Musical!

“The Tales of Hoffmann” is a three-act opera by French composer Jacques Offenbach (1819–1880). The libretto is based on stories by E.T.A. Hoffmann (1776–1822), an amazingly versatile German author who wrote many fantastic tales as well as his own operas.

“The Tales of Hoffmann” has beautifully intricate plot, including high spots such as “The Doll Song” performed by a “mechanical doll,” and the world-famous “Barcarolle.”
