With more than 20 years of experience in television, Bill Maher has earned more than 32 Emmy nominations for his hit TV shows and specials. Maher’s first creation, the late night talk show “Politically Incorrect” (Comedy Central, ABC-TV), ran from 1993 to 2002 and featured a round-table discussion of current events with four guests coming from pop culture, politics, and news.
For the past 12 years, “Real Time with Bill Maher” (HBO) has combined Maher’s unflinching honesty with big laughs and has featured many well-known guests including Howard Dean, Ben Affleck, Robin Williams, Arianna Huffington, Cory Book and Michael Moore.
Brickworld, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25-26, in the Special Events Building at Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa. Hours will be Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
General admission is $10 in advance and $11 the day of the show.
The show will feature 40,000 square feet of creations all built from Lego bricks by local Lego enthusiasts. There will be interactive activities, such as the Lego and Duplo play brick areas, seek and finds, and fighting robots.

“Hamlet,” by Shakespeare, Oct. 10 through Nov. 2, at New Stage Theatre and Conservatory, 11650 131st St. N., Largo. Performances will be Thursdays, 7 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 8 p.m.; and Sundays, 3 p.m.
Starring Chris Jackson as Hamlet, New Stage Theatre and Conservatory’s production of one of theater’s most iconic works – “Hamlet” – will be presented through an adaption inspired from Laurence Olivier’s famous film, and will feature seven transformational actors.
MADEIRA BEACH – The 33rd annual John’s Pass Seafood Festival will be Friday through Sunday, Oct. 24-26, at Historic John’s Pass Village located in Madeira Beach.
The festival will feature an art and craft show, entertainment and more local seafood vendors than ever before.
New this year, food vendors will be going for bragging rights with free entry to food competitions, including Best Grouper, Best Seafood Dish, People’s Choice, and the inaugural Battle in the Gulf Pass to the Plate Ceviche contest. Local restaurants are welcomed and encouraged to enter the contests and/or reserve booth space.
TAMPA – The Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, Bright House Network, Tampa Bay Downs and Warsteiner Bier will sponsor the 19th annual Top o’ the Bay Oktoberfest Oct. 24-26, at Tampa Bay Downs, 11225 Race Track Road, Tampa.
Oktoberfest hours will be Friday, 5 to 11 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. Admission is $5. Parking is free.
Oktoberfest will bring the best of Old Bavaria and new Florida together for three full days of authentic German food, drink, music and dancing. The event will feature a carnival and midway, a great arts and crafts show and loads of interesting vendors.
Attendees can get into the act by participating in one of the hourly contests on and around the main stage. There will be contests of strength, endurance and sheer determination such as: Stein-holding, Log sawing, Keg tossing and Barrel rolling.
INDIAN ROCKS BEACH – Keegan’s Seafood Grille will host its seventh annual Stone Crab Feast Oct. 24-26, with special pricing while supplies last.
Live music will be provided by local artists such as BillyD, Pamela Love and Jason Reagle. Keegan’s is at 1519 Gulf Blvd. Hours will be Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
