An Evening with the Mojo Gurus
An Evening with the Mojo Gurus, Saturday, Aug. 29, 8 p.m., at the Palladium at St. Petersburg College, 253 Fifth Ave. N., St. Petersburg. General admission tickets are $10 in advance and $13 the day of the show. For information, visit www.mypalladium.org.

“Where You Hidin’ Your Love,” the first single from the band’s album “Who Asked Ya?”, is a horn driven, funk rocker that was produced by Tommy Henricksen. The record was mastered by Stephen Marsh.

The Mojo Gurus have previously released three critically acclaimed records, worked with Grammy Award-winning producer Jack Douglas, played with acts as diverse as Joe Perry, David Allan Coe, Blackberry Smoke, Johnny Winter, and built their reputation on their live performances.

Lita Ford and Kip Winger
Lita Ford and Kip Winger, Saturday, Aug. 29, 8 p.m., at Capitol Theatre, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater. Tickets start at $32.50. Call 791-7400 or visit www.atthecap.com.

A British born rocker who grew up on the streets of L.A., Lita Ford, is considered one of the most important female representatives of the rock genre.

Ford is a founding member of the Runaways, one of the first girl groups who unexpectedly broke down barriers in the punk era as well as the male-dominated world or rock music, causing a stir with their six rebellious releases.

Following the demise of the Runaways, Ford concentrated on her own career and now looks back on many memorable hits including the chart-topping duet with Ozzy Osborne “Close Your Eyes Forever,” “What Do You Know About Love,” “Shot of Poison,” “Larger Than Life” and “Kiss Me Deadly.” In 2012, she released “Living Like a Runaway” (SPV/Steamhammer).

Kip Winger, the multi-platinum recording artist, may be known best for his success with Winger and his early days as a bass player with Alice Cooper. However, the range and scope of his musical journey can be more fully experienced in his solo albums, “This Conversation Seems Like A Dream,” “Songs From The Ocean Floor,” “From The Moon To The Sun” and his most recent composition “Ghosts” for string orchestra, piano and harp. In 1995, after his hugely successful run with Winger, Kip started writing and producing music without limits.
