LARGO – Hannah Curlee, a runner-up in the NBC hit show “Biggest Loser,” will be appearing in Largo to share her message of health and wellness with local residents.
“We’re excited to have Hannah visit with our community,” said Paige Brett, H2U director at Largo Medical Center Hospital, in a press release. “She is such a positive person and can really help motivate people to think about improving their health.”
Curlee, who entered the “Biggest Loser” with her sister, lost 125 pounds during the reality TV show’s 11th season. She now works as the director of heath engagement for H2U, a program of HCA Hospitals nationwide. She travels the country sharing tips on how to keep fit at any age.
“We have a busy schedule for Hannah while she’s here,” said Brett. “We wanted to make the most of our time with her.”
Curlee will attend four events in late February.
First, on Monday, Feb. 25, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., she will visit the Fit Kids program at the Southwest Recreation Center in Largo. There, she will talk about good nutrition and work out with the kids and parents. The event is free and open to the public. Southwest Recreation Center is at 13120 Vonn Road.
Curlee will be the keynote speaker at the Women In Business Expo on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Largo Cultural Center, 105 Central Park Drive. She will address attendees at 4 p.m., sharing her experiences from her weight loss journey. At 4:30 p.m., the attendees will enjoy the WIB Expo with more than 50 exhibitors sharing their goods and services. The event is free and open to the public.
Curlee will host a Healthy Walk with Hannah on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Largo Community Center, 400 Alt. Keene Road. Seniors will learn how to eat healthy and stay fit. Health screenings also will be available.
The Central Pinellas Chamber will meet for a luncheon Wednesday, Feb. 27, noon, at the Largo Medical Center, 201 14th St. SW. Curlee will address the group, talking about the economics of wellness and how a healthy workforce helps create a healthy bottom line. Cost is $20. Call 584-2321 to RSVP.
