Healthy Families is an intensive home visiting and family support program that has been in operation since 1992. It serves families countywide with 12 home visiting teams.
The program focuses on preventing child abuse before it starts by working with families from pregnancy until the child is linked to the school system. The staff has Family Support Workers who visit homes to provide parenting education and support to families at risk of child abuse and neglect.
The Pinellas Park site is the largest Healthy Families single site in the nation and serves more than 1,500 families each year.
