ST. PETERSBURG – Each year Edward White Hospital recognizes one nurse and one nursing support staff member for their clinical excellence.
Their peers for their outstanding service, leadership, compassion and commitment to the hospital and patients nominate the award recipients.
This year’s award for Clinical Excellence in Nursing was presented to Joan Burke, RN and case manager. Burke has been with Edward White Hospital for four years. She is respected by many and has made a difference because of her excellence in nursing and devotion to the patients she serves. She is a teacher and a leader in her department, serving as a preceptor for new employees.
The Clinical Excellence for Nursing Support Award recipient was Barbara Fisher, CNA. Fisher works in the ICU and is often recognized by her patients and peers for her exemplary service. She is a compassionate caregiver, consistently thinking up special ways to make the patients feel welcome.
The awards were presented in celebration of National Nurse’s Week.
