The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System recently named Cory Price as assistant director. Price will oversee several services across the healthcare system, including logistics, nutrition and food service, police, prosthetics and sensory aids, and voluntary service.
Price comes to Bay Pines with more than 15 years of federal government service. His most recent assignment was administrator for operations at the Orlando VA Medical Center.
He started his career as a commissioned Medical Service Corps officer in the U.S. Army where he oversaw helicopter ambulance employment and operations for nearly 12 years. This experience included both domestic and international operations in the continental United States, Thailand, Germany, Kuwait and Iraq.
In January 2009, Price left the military to pursue opportunities where he could continue to serve Veterans and their health care needs. He began his VA career at the Orlando VA Medical Center where he served as the administrative officer for radiology and later administrative officer for medicine prior to his most recent assignment.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of a team nationally recognized for health care quality, delivery and safety,” said Price. “As a veteran, and someone committed to the health and well-being of the brave men and women we serve, my goal is to build on the successes this organization has achieved and do my part to strengthen our world class healthcare system.”
The Bay Pines VAHCS is one of the nation’s leading VA healthcare systems, employing more than 3,800 medical professionals and support staff dedicated to providing the very best care to veterans residing in southwest Florida. The organization is the fourth busiest VA health care system in the country in terms of patients served and operates nine facilities.
