SEMINOLE – Roger K. Schwartzberg, DO, FAAIM, an internist from Seminole, was recently elected chairman of the Board of Certification of Internal Medicine. His term began July 1 and ends June 30, 2014.
BCIM is a member board of the American Board of Physician Specialties headquartered in Tampa.
“It is a great honor to serve the internal medicine community of ABPS as chair of BCIM,” said Dr. Schwartzberg. “I look forward to supporting physicians as the ABPS works to further patient care in 18 medical specialties.”
Prior to his election as chairman, he served as vice chair of BCIM for 2012-13.
Dr. Schwartzberg became board certified by the ABPS in internal medicine in 1988. He earned the degree of fellow in internal medicine in 1991 and was named physician of the year in the specialty in 2005.
Employed by Oakhurst Medical Clinic, Dr. Schwartzberg has practiced in the Seminole area for over 35 years. He is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
