CLEARWATER – Morton Plant Mease health experts will host several free health seminars in the coming weeks at various Pinellas locations.
Following is a list of upcoming seminars:
• Taking Your Medication: Things to Know – Wednesday, Sept. 18, noon, at the Aging Well Center at the Long Center, Grand Room, 1501 N. Belcher Road, Clearwater. Internist Vakesh Rajani, M.D., will host a discussion that will include how different foods, herbs, and other medicine can conflict with medications.
• Safe Dieting for Diabetes Patients – Wednesday, Sept. 18, 5:30 p.m., at the Dunedin Community Center, The Elliott Room, 1920 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin. Diane Thornton, RDN, LDN, CDE, will discuss how to properly diet as a type 2 diabetic.
• Meal Planning for the Patient with Diabetes – Wednesday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m., at Mease Countryside Hospital, Meeting Room 1-3, 3231 McMullen-Booth Road, Safety Harbor. A registered/certified diabetes educator will help patients with diabetes learn to eat better to control blood glucose levels.
• Understanding Your Lab Results – Monday, Sept. 23, 2 p.m., at the Aging Well Center at the Long Center, Grand Room, 1501 N. Belcher Road, Clearwater. Scott Spence, medical technician and manager, will discuss lab tests that are commonly ordered, what is being measured, what normal ranges are, and what an abnormal range means.
