The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is continuously seeking ways to improve the veteran patient experience and access to healthcare information.
One of the newest ways veterans may access their healthcare information is through a self-service feature which allows them to submit requests for their medical records using the VetLink kiosk when checking in to their prescheduled appointments.
VetLink previously provided Veterans with the ability to update their personal information, make any changes to their insurance information, and review account balances.
The added convenience to VetLink will ultimately eliminate the need for a veteran to commute to the Release of Information office to make the request in person and avoid any unnecessary waiting in line. The veteranís request is then processed by release of Information staff and mailed to the veteran within two to four weeks. This enhancement to VetLink is intended for veterans to request a copy for personal use.
