SEMINOLE – The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System has opened a new 500-space parking garage to veterans and their families.
The new, five-level garage increases the overall parking capacity at the medical center to about 3,000 spaces. The structure is intended for patients and visitors use only.
“We have been working diligently to activate the new 500-space parking garage located on the east side of the medical center,” said Suzanne Klinker, director of the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System.
“Like all of our projects, this beautiful new structure was designed and built for veterans and their families,” she said. “The garage is located adjacent to the main hospital building and was designed to accommodate all veterans – most importantly it provides much needed parking and will have an immediate and beneficial impact when open.”
A formal celebratory event is being planned for early October.
The new parking garage is one of several ongoing construction projects occurring across the Bay Pines campus.
Bay Pines is one of the nation’s leading VA healthcare systems, employing more than 3,500 medical professionals and support staff dedicated to providing the very best care to veterans in southwest Florida.
