ST. PETERSBURG – Barbara Daire, president and CEO of Suncoast Center Inc. of St. Petersburg, recently was named the recipient of the 2013 Lois Potter Hill Community Health Partnership Award presented by the Florida Association of Community Health Centers.
During Daire’s tenure as CEO and president of Suncoast Center Inc., the agency has grown to serving more than 25,000 children, adults, families and seniors in Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, and Hillsborough counties. For the past 11 years Daire has been a steadfast collaborator and partner in assuring access to behavioral health services for the patients of Community Health Centers of Pinellas, embodying the mission to ensure access to everyone regardless of ability to pay. This is a unique partnership in which both are willing to take financial risks that ultimately benefit the individual and the community.
Pat Mabe of Community Health Centers of Pinellas nominated Daire.
The Lois Potter Hill Community Health Partnership Award recognizes individuals, civic, or religious groups who have advanced health services to the underserved by financial, material, or voluntary services to a community or migrant health organization and created public awareness and support for private participation in community health care.
Suncoast Center’s mission is to strengthen, protect and restore lives for a healthy community. The center’s programs and services include Pinellas County’s Children’s Advocacy Center, Pinellas County’s only accredited Rape Crisis Center, and the Child Protection Team.
