ST. PETERSBURG – The Florida Holocaust Museum will host an opening program for its newest exhibition, “Middle Passage: White Ships/Black Cargo” by Tom Feelings, on Sunday, Jan. 29, 4 p.m.
The program will feature songs by the Alumni Singers Choir and readings by Dr. James E. Tokley Sr. as well as honorary chair Sen. Frank Peterman and other community leaders. The exhibition will depict 300 years of the slave trade between Africa and the Americas through black and white drawings with a combination of abstraction and realism. The museum brings this exhibition to the Tampa Bay area in hopes that the images are viewed as a tribute to the survival of the human spirit and the humanity won by the survivors of the Middle Passage.
The exhibition will be on display through Sunday, April 30.
