ST. PETERSBURG - Art Not Hate, Saturday, March 6-30, at the Florida Holocaust Museum, 55 Fifth St. S. Art Not Hate is a multimedia exhibition by artist Bob Barancik exploring creative conflict resolution.
The exhibit, co-presented by the museum and the CreativeLedge Exhibitions Group, will celebrate the power of art, education and collaboration to transcend violence and promote understanding.
It will feature approximately 20 of Barancik’s highly textured and layered mixed-media compositions, digital prints, award-winning videos and handmade books, and will include one of the artist's seminal works, the 10-foot long “Shoah Scroll.”
Art Not Hate is a continuation of Barancik’s work in the Witness and Legacy show that visited FHM almost 10 years ago. The exhibit is one component of a group of complementary projects that include workshops for students and youth care workers teaching creative conflict resolution and communication.
Museum hours are Monday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last admission at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, $10 for college students and $8 for students age 17 and younger. Members of the military, FHM members, USF students with identification and children age 6 and younger are admitted free.
