CLEARWATER - Norman Rockwell's noted cousin, portrait artist Jessica Rockwell, celebrates her 10-year anniversary in Clearwater with an Open House on Fridays through July 31, 2 to 5 p.m., at 313 Lotus Path.
Rockwell has created 100s of portraits for the Clearwater, Tampa and St. Peterburg areas since moving to Clearwater with her husband in 1999.
After moving to Clearwater, she set up a small studio and was beset with portrait requests. In 2004, the couple built a 1200-square- foot custom art studio where she now creates her art, entertains patrons, guests and friends.
"Some have called me Tampa Bay's resident portrait artist. We have had a great 10 years and are looking forward to many, many more. I love the people here and want to touch every heart with a beautiful portrait," Rockwell said.
People attending the open house will get a chance to see completed original portraits, works of art in progress and recent sketches that will be turned into paintings. Sketches and prints also will be available for purchase.
A Fox News video of Rockwell creating a commissioned portrait will also be available for viewing.
Refreshments will be served. A small pack of cards, with Rockwell's works on them, will be given to all that come to the open house. Rockwell will hand sign a card for anyone that asks.
