The Cool Art Show is July 19 through 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, at the historic Coliseum Ballroom, 535 Fourth Ave. N., St. Petersburg.
ST. PETERSBURG - Dance your way around the art at the Coliseum Ballroom and forget about the heat or possible mid-summer storms. Come into the cool – the Cool Art Show that is. Always on the third weekend of July, this year’s show will be July 19 through 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Hosted by the Professional Association of Visual Artists, this premier indoor show takes place inside St. Petersburg’s historic Coliseum Ballroom, 535 Fourth Ave. N., St. Petersburg. Admission and parking are free. Food and beverage concessions, including beer and wine, provide ample refreshments.
Attendance has always been high at this premier juried fine art and craft event which offers high caliber work from 80 local and statewide artists, according to a press release about the show.
Artists include several award winners from this year’s Mainsail Art Show: John Mascoll, Ernie Simmons, John Kellum, Ana Varela and Dave Bruner. A contemporary and classic collection of hand crafted visual and functional works are available for sale in paint, wood, ceramics, photography, metal, glass, mixed media and jewelry.
PAVA has been in existence for 27 years, and is now organized formally as a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) art organization. Since its inception, Artist members from Florida and the eastern United States organize several annual high caliber art shows and educational programs, including the Annual 2Cool Art at the Gulfport Casino in February.
Cool Art has grown in 26 years from its beginnings as a small outlet for artists in the slow summer, to an outstanding, highly respected “not to be missed” summer art event.
This year’s Cool Art show promises to continue a trajectory of innovation, multimedia creativity and vibrant presentation of quality fine art and contemporary craft.
