SAFETY HARBOR – “Special Art by Special Hands,” a complimentary exhibit featuring unique artwork by the local Harborside Studios’ artists, will be presented Thursday, Aug. 24, at Syd Entel Galleries, 247 Main St., Safety Harbor.
For one night Syd Entel takes down the prestige collection of fine art and glass to display the artwork from The Arc Tampa Bay’s art studio, Harborside Studios. This event has no admission fees, as guests are encouraged to support these gifted artists by purchasing their artwork. Proceeds from all art sales will directly benefit those The Arc Tampa Bay serves with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
For nine years now, Syd Entel Galleries has hosted Special Art by Special Hands.
“We are so thankful for Susan Benjamin and her team at Syd Entel Galleries for generously hosting our ninth annual event,” said Madison Orr Hauenstein, executive director of The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation. “It is amazing to have supporters in the community who recognize the importance of embracing the people we serve with I/DD and involving them in the community.”
Upon entering the gallery, guests will be greeted by the artists of Harborside Studios, and served hors’ d’oeuvres graciously donated from Clear Sky Draught House.
A day program provided by The Arc Tampa Bay, Harborside Studios is an art studio and gallery for those served by The Arc Tampa Bay with I/DD. The studio produces acrylics, ceramics, jewelry, and many more masterfully made hand crafted art pieces.
Located at 176 5th Avenue North in Downtown Safety Harbor, the studio is open to the public Monday through Friday with operating hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artwork displayed in the gallery is available for purchase, and proceeds from the purchase go directly to the artist.
