The Studio@620 hosts Creating Masks from Nature Sunday Aug. 31, 2 p.m.
ST. PETERSBURG - The Studio@620 will host another unique hands-on art workshop, Creating Masks from Nature, Sunday Aug. 31, 2 p.m.
Individuals are invited to create a painted and embellished upcycled mask from palm tree bark with local artist Demeree Barth of DemiGod Studio.
Participants will work with Demeree, who is also an art teacher for Pinellas County Public Schools, to create a one-of-a-kind mask for their home or garden.
She will guide students through the process of planning, sketching, painting, and embellishing a piece of palm tree bark found readily in Florida. Once you make one, you will have the skills to create another on your own at home.
Supplies will be provided to use during the class, which will include palm tree bark and paint, and reference photos.
Class size limited to 20 participants.†Registration fee of $30 per person covers all supply costs. Advanced registration requested.
The Studio@620 is a nonprofit arts venue located at 620 First Ave. S., St. Petersburg.
