DUNEDIN - Enjoy free coffee and conversation with potter Alison Shepard Thursday, Sept. 12, noon, at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd.
Shapard will share not only her artistic history and some thoughts about clay techniques, she will also take us into her own personal world of “Shepardswood” (a mystical forest) she is creating on her property. From Norse gods to tall spirits, it’s a tour you won’t want to miss!
Shepard enjoys pen and ink, painting, sculpture, murals, weaving and ceramic arts. She graduated from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio with a BFA. She has worked in Florida as a teacher, mural artist, surveyor, survey and engineering drafter, graphics designer, and illustrator. She is still mural painting and gradually turning her house, inside & out, into a creature-filled forest landscape. Shepard also serves as DFAC’s Clay Studio Manager.
