15th annual studio waltz of artists coming Oct. 6

PINELLAS COUNTY - The North Pinellas Artists’ annual open-house tour will be on Saturday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free self-guided tour will take participants to various studio locations.

The artists, whose original work is on display, will be available to talk about their craft and to sell artwork on the spot. Most studios will also demonstrate their art. Various mediums from jewelry to photography to printmaking and more will be represented.

This year the Clearwater Library, 100 North Osceola Ave. will serve as a hub point with many plein air artists painting on the grounds of the library and Coachman Park. Tour maps and views of the work of the participating artists will be available inside the library.

Information maps can also be picked up at other Clearwater libraries, Dunedin Library, Clearwater, Clearwater Beach and Dunedin Chambers of Commerce, Dunedin Fine Art Center and Painted Fish Gallery in downtown Dunedin.

New also this year is the City of Clearwater’s division of Cultural Affairs as a partner sponsor.

Participating studio artists include – Gareth Whitehurst – custom jewelry; Ric Savid – photography; David Ewart – photography; Robin Popp – painting; Beth Warmath – painting and painted objects; Susan Rollins Gehring – printmaking; Imago Art Group – Elaine Schilp, Marilyn M. Jones, Sultana Volaitis, Robert Sutherland, Liz Murtagh, Davie Duke, Dorothy Briccetti, Carol Rosefelt, Viv Ruegger, Kathy Morgan, Herb and Diane Starr, Sioux Hart - various mediums; Ernest Simmons – wildlife painting; Carol Sackman and Blake White – painted objects mixed media; Connie Parkinson – Glass jewelry; Barbara Grazul Hubbard – printmaking; Diane Borden Jones – paper making; Lee Jones – copper Sculpture; Luis Arturo Ruiz Contreras – printmaking and sculptures.

Plein Air artists include Kirsten Andreason, Don Eaton, Jenna Friedman, Rose Gallo, Dorothy Gardner, Barbara Kampe Hanson and Melissa Miller Nece.
