LARGO - A holiday event decked out in a sophisticated black and white theme will be sponsored by the Gulf Coast Museum of Art's Les Fauves group on Thursday, Dec. 15, 6 to 10 p.m., in the museum galleries.
The focus of the event will be REDUCED: an exhibition and sale of black and white artwork created by emerging Tampa Bay artists for $100 or less. Each work will be black and/or white, from oils, acrylics, pencil and ink to ceramics and photography.
The galleries will be saturated with black and white elements including edible ornaments from dark and white chocolate, guests dressed in black and white attire and cups of hot cocoa to carry out into the Florida Botanical Gardens for a stroll to view the holiday lights. Appetizers will be catered by Saffron's and music will be provided by Lush Progress.
There is no charge for Les Fauves members; $5 for others. The general public is welcome and participants can join Les Fauves at the event. The museum is at 12211 Walsingham Road. Call 518-6833, ext. 206.
Les Fauves is the Gulf Coast Museum of Art's young professionals' membership group targeted to individuals and couples in their 20s, 30s and 40s. Each season, Les Fauves explore the challenges and excitement of contemporary art through educational, interactive and social events.
