SAFETY HARBOR – The city of Safety Harbor and the Safety Harbor Museum of Regional History announce the official grand opening of the Safety Harbor Museum and Cultural Center on Friday, Dec. 7, 7 to 9 p.m.
The Safety Harbor Museum of Regional History closed in March to undergo extensive renovations to the building as part of a partnership agreement with the City of Safety Harbor. When the center re-opens, it will open as the Safety Harbor Museum and Cultural Center.
In addition to a brand new look, the center will offer a variety of new classes, programming and events to engage the community. Promoting arts and culture in the community and continuing to preserve Safety Harbor’s rich regional history and heritage remain primary goals of the Center.
The new class line-up will include classes running Mondays through Thursdays as well as weekend workshops. Some of the classes scheduled are: Beginning Digital Photography, Pastels Pure and Simple, Creative Writing, Mosaics and Fashion Repurposed. Weekend workshops include: Jewelry Making, Mixed Media Art Workshop, Social Media for Artists and Put a Bow on It! Holiday Decorating.
There are several ways to get involved and support the Safety Harbor Museum and Cultural Center. There’s a new membership program that features different gift levels that offer a variety of perks and benefits. If you’d like to donate your time, we are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated people to help out around the center doing anything from front desk reception to acting as a docent. The Center continues to look for instructors for new and exciting classes to offer the Safety Harbor community.
