DUNEDIN – Enjoy free Coffee and Conversation with Michael Harris at the Dunedin Fine Art Center Thursday, Dec. 13, at noon.
Presented by the Sterling Society of DFAC, each month’s event includes an invited guest to discuss their own area of expertise.
The December series hosts photographer and author Michael Harris. Harris will discuss the perils, pitfalls and potential profits of the publishing world.
His photography has been published many times in ‘Tampa Bay’s Best’ magazine, where he was assigned people and beautiful homes. He teaches photography seasonally at the Dunedin Fine Art Center, and also instructs in creative writing and the topic of this conversation: “How To Get Published.”
His philosophy of the creative art is summed up by a statement he made in an
interview with Al Kellerman in 2006: “I'm beginning to think: the most important thing about creative art is to do it often and then by osmosis and skill and luck, we'll get some good stuff, that someday will be recognized for its artistic value. Some of the work I hated originally, (because it was technically weak), I've grown to love because of the passion expressed in it.”
