INDIAN ROCKS BEACH Ė The Beach Art Center galleries will open the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society Members Show with a reception on Friday, Jan. 6, from 5:30 through 7:30 p.m. The exhibition will hang until Saturday, Jan. 28, with free admission.
Judge and juror for the event is well-known St. Petersburg artist, Jean Grastorf. Among others, Grastorf is a member of the prestigious American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society. She has been featured in many publications and has received awards from art exhibitions across the United States.
The FSWS was formed in 1983 with well known artists, Frank Jennings and Jerry McClish as charter members. Meetings were at the Art League of Manatee County. The FSWS is now recognized as a fine arts association in the use of watercolor as a purely transparent medium. Each year three major exhibitions are held in various cities on the Suncoast.
