CLEARWATER – From blues to classical to jazz to folk and rock, Ruth Eckerd Hall continues to offer a variety of national musical performers in January.

Guy Davis will tell stories and sing the blues on Friday, Jan. 19, 7:30 and 10 p.m. in the Murray Studio Theater. General admission tickets are $15, students, $10.

“A singer and guitarist in the rural mould of Robert Johnson and Mississippi John Hurt, Guy Davis has got a voice like Howlin’ Wolf dipped in honey.

He is also an enchanting storyteller, able to deliver a shaggy-dog story while barking and simultaneously making train noises on a harmonica,” according to The Scotsman. This evening will stimulate the storyteller and blues lover in all of us.

Billed as a “classical music superstar,” Joshua Bell will take the stage on Saturday, Jan. 20, 8 p.m. Tickets are $35, $45, $50 and $70.

Musically captivating and movie star handsome, Bell has come a long way since his parents discovered him at age four plucking tunes on rubber bands stretched across the handles of his dresser drawers. He was responsible for all solo violin music on the Oscar winning soundtrack of The Red Violin. This Grammy Award winner has performed with virtually every major symphony orchestra in the world and is truly a classical music superstar.  He'll be joined onstage by Jeremy Denk on piano.

Jazz-lovers will delight when the Dave Brubeck Quartet teams up with the Ramsey Lewis Trio on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2 p.m. Tickets are $35, $45, $49 and $70.

Don't miss this chance to experience two legends of piano jazz: Dave Brubeck Quartet (“Take Five,” “Blue Rondo A La Turk”) and the Ramsey Lewis Trio (“The In Crowd,” “Hang On Sloopy”). Together they make an unforgettable afternoon of cool jazz masterpieces.

A late addition to REH’s January calendar, the Indigo Girls bring their show to Clearwater on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 8 p.m. Tickets are $37 and $42.

Twenty years after they began releasing records as Indigo Girls, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have politely declined the opportunity to mellow with age. They'll be joined by special guest Three 5 Human.

The Indigo Girls are an American folk rock duo. They got their start in Atlanta as a regular act at The Little 5 Points Pub and were part of the Athens, Ga. college rock scene that included The B-52's, R.E.M., and the Georgia Satellites. Both "girls" are accomplished musicians and their songwriting skills have kept them on the music scene for over 20 years. They were regulars on the Lilith Fair tours and are activists for the earth and human rights. Best known hits include "Hammer And A Nail," "Galileo," "Closer to Fine," and "Least Complicated." This will be an acoustic performance.

January’s music schedule ends with a performance by The Fray on Friday, Jan. 26, 8 p.m. Tickets are $34.50.

From the sleepy sprawl of America's Mile-High City, the Denver-based foursome brings their melodic pop-rock songs and soaring vocals to resonate REH with sprawling tapestries and tales of hopefulness and heartache. Their current album and title song "How to Save a Life" are in the Billboard Top 40.

Tickets to these shows are available by calling 727-791-7400 or online at www.rutheckerdhall.com.

Ruth Eckerd Hall is located at 1111 N. McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater.
