AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle perform a Simon and Garfunkel Retrospective March 18 at Largo Cultural Center.
LARGO - The Largo Lions Club will present a Simon and Garfunkel Retrospective by AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle Monday, March 18, 2 and 7 p.m.
Tickets are $22.50. An applicable service fee will be added to the ticket price.
According to their website, Swearingen and Beedle have been performing this remarkable tribute to the music of Simon and Garfunkel for more than a decade.
Following a chance meeting in 1991 in a club in Bethlehem, Pa., these two talented artists almost immediately found themselves blending their voices as if they had been performing together for a lifetime. Swearingen’s warm baritone and Beedle’s soaring tenor combine flawlessly to capture the essence and magic of Simon and Garfunkel’s distinctive sound – particularly that of the early years in Greenwich Village.
Taking the stage at Largo Cultural Center with little more than an acoustic guitar, Swearingen and Beedle will re-create the memories of classic hits and more obscure songs of Simon and Garfunkel – songs such as “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Homeward Bound” and “Mrs. Robinson.”
